Ummm... no - I'd deny myself having to go through endless repeats, before I get to anything new. Others can do as they please.

Oh, thanks. I get to go back and try to do everything faster or follow Dunkoro's "advice" or mimic that mime at the party - TEN TIMES OVER. Gee, what a wonderful time I'm going to have.

BTW - I generally don't play with PUGs. I try whenever I'm stuck, but find them to be like deranged kamikaze henchmen on acid. My "attitude" was down to a dislike of "titles" and the apparent desire some had to use them to segregate the community. It's bad enough seeing every other idea that gets posted in Sardelac being shot down by someone concerned at how it will affect their precious title - the idea that titles would get used in the way being suggested was simply too offensive to me. There are a lot of different types of players in GW - one group shouldn't get to dictate what another gets to do. I'm sure there are ways to get a good human group together, without some weird title based apartheid (a clue is probably in the game's title). For my part, I play largely solo and wish to do so without having to grind for titles or achievements that I have no interest in (that's kind've a big deal to me ).

Oh and "work"? WORK? You know it's a game right? I've been putting in 2-3 hrs a day, but I really will be quitting when it starts to feel like work.

Anyway, this argument is mute, in light of Gailes post.

I hope to heaven that here is some kind of separate district for the hard mode people, it was and still is murder to find groups to do the Titan Quests after finishing Prophasies as you have to group in the same cities as low level players.

Yeah I never got those quests

I kinda hope they become full fledged missions in hard mode but I doubt it.

A good idea would be to make one or two missions that had you going around Tyria to kill off the titans after DDF, replacing most of the titan quests. This wouldn't count toward Protector of Tyria though.

You do it once, it's account wide. And if you can't do those menial tasks even once, what makes you think you'll even grasp the concept of doing something 2-3 times more difficult?

Since this is a 'game' you need not take every word for its literal meaning. Work in a game can translate into effort, how's that? Or shall I say, this would reward those for their 'hard play'.

Anyway, you do know there are sports/games played by every country nearly that have what are called minor leagues and whatnot. There are 1st string positions and there are 3rd. Which do you choose to fall into? And which do you feel is allowed for those who do much more than you to achieve them? Do I like titles? Not especially, so we agree these are pointless to some degree. However, do I want to team up with people who get run to Droks, skip half the game, get to ToPK and still don't know how to move from a meteor shower, or are shocked that their Firey Storm Bow isn't doing extra damage with Order of Vamp and it's the Necro's fault for not keeping that skill up? Or why the Necro who sacrifices life for the party is up front wanding Terras? Sorry for the rant, but titles don't mean anything, but selfish I want it all but don't want to do more than I want to do for it attitudes is wearing thin on people's nerves who actually DO want to get a competent group together to try this new mode. So, filter out those who want to slag, and let's get on with the true 'hard players' (not workers mind you).

So what did you do when you finished your first mission (not quest)? Were you upset others were already done with the game enjoying other aspects of it while you were just learning the differences between a hornbow and a recurve?

It better not be as hard as DoA... I tank that area with an obby tank and honestly it boring as hell (tanking). Also, people better not require TS/Vent... cause I am seriously gonna get pissed off if that happens.

IMO, Hard Mode should increase the difficulty to make it interesting for veteran players, but should not make it impossible to 2 man with heros. For example, I don't wanna be stuck tanking, I wanna run a warrior DPS build..

100% agree. Trying to find a group with all the spam and lower level newbies would blow..

Anyone else besides me take issue with the fact that this "hard mode" will kill off the protector maximum towards KoaBD? I had to work particularly hard on some missions (read: Eternal Grove) to get the masters award only to find that these titles will no longer be maxed out. Repeating nearly 60 missions on a harder difficulty seems more like a chore than a reward. I can only hope anet has some wonderful things in mind with this update and I will reserve serious judgement until I've seen what this new difficulty entails.

You will not lose your protector max title. It will remain counting towards your KOABD. That has been confirmed by anet..please dont worry about it.

As far as hardmode missions....international districts will be my place to form.

Edit: Sorry about that, I did not go through properly and see the March part. Could have sworn it was April, but I guess it was my mind playing tricks on me. I’ll keep the link up though.

"Also, people better not require TS/Vent... cause I am seriously gonna get pissed off if that happens. "

56k FTL? Not sure what you have against ts/vent. In my experience there are very few PvE areas in which having voice com helps... the final missions of DoA come to mind. It does wonders for group synergy.

Usually if I'm leading a PUG ts/vent is optional because tbh I don't want to spend my time raging at some silly person who runs around like a headless chicken... rather listen to some Bob Marley and chill out. But depending on how "hard" this thing is it may very well require TS/Vent to be efficient, like Team Arenas or HA --sure you can do without it, but you're not gonna get far.

I am nervously anticipating this update as it will "make or break" GW for me. If this sucks, I will probably play a lot less. If it's everything I hope it can be, I will see all of you in Hard Mode and then in GW:EN.

There is one issue I do have with TS/Vent, though. Mainly because I'm mostly deaf. I try to keep vent/TS on really high volume, though, and sometimes I'm lucky and get a TS/Vent group that types out the important details beforehand for me. I can speak just as fine as anyone else, too, so that helps as well.

I'm still looking foward to HM. I'm just hoping it's not DoA-crazy (talking about skills like Enraged).

Cheers.

"You must have completed the campaign with at least one character on the account in order to access Hard mode."

I know people are pretty sure that it is protector title but what are the chances of it just having a completed campaign or just completed every mission (min req).

I got the impression that people thought of the Protector titles b/c of the the Guardian and Vanquisher titles. Idk.

And sine the Lightbringer/Sunspear event is a weekend event, I assume it'll starte noon on Friday.

im excited about hard mode. Im going to love it no matter what, even if they made it irritatingly hard.

Lets just hope noone complains about how Anet went about HM, b/c there should be no reason to complain. It's a way to have us continue playing the game.
